Impact
Taekwon-Do
Credo

We don’t break when life gets real.

Everything we do starts from a strong foundation we grind out together, the kind that holds up no matter what.

There’s no real limit to how deep we can go, on the floor or in life.

We don’t quit. Period.

When life hits hard we don’t stay down. We get back up focused, smarter, stronger, every single time – Together.

We carry that kind of strength with us always, and people feel it when in our presence.

In the end, it’s not about the belts or the trophies. It’s about who we turn into after hundreds of hours of sweat and bruises.

That’s the real impact.
That’s who we are.

Meet our Instructor

I started my Taekwon-Do ITF journey February 1986, and opened my first studio in 1988 when I was 16 years old. This journey had an amazing Impact on my own life and I have seen the positive Impact that the Martial Arts can have in any person’s life over and over again, irrespective of age, gender, social status, race or ideology.

I have traveled the world to better myself, training, competing, coaching, growing and increasing not only my knowledge of this amazing Martial Art but to open my mind to the possibilities life has to offer.

The Martial Arts taught me many disciplines, to think forward, to understand the responsibility of decision making, and to live life by the consequences of my thoughts and actions.

I invite you to journey with us, walk beside us on this path of introspection, of wisdom and eternal pursuit of self mastery.

"Joining Impact Taekwon-Do has been a powerful step in my martial arts journey. I was searching for a Dojang where I would feel valued, and from the moment I joined, I knew I had found the right place. Training under Master Bert has been truly inspiring. His passion for Taekwon-Do, his students, and the art itself is unmistakable."

Gert van Deventer

"The supportive environment created by the Impact Taekwon-Do team made me feel part of the family from the very first class. I felt encouraged, motivated, and inspired to continue this journey. Master Bert’s passion for teaching, and his commitment to helping every student grow and shine in each session, is truly something special."

Jessica Grobler

"I originally joined because I wanted to try something new, what I found here went far beyond my expectations. Taekwon-Do has taught me how to control both my mind and my body. That balance has helped me stay calm and collected, especially in difficult situations, and it’s something I now carry with me outside the dojang as well. Taekwon-Do doesn’t just train your body; it shapes your mindset and the way you approach life."

Andre Trytsman

"To everyone who are considering a martial art, the most important factor to consider is the COACH, his coaching style and the coaching environment. There are many styles of martial arts to choose from, all have a benefit, that’s a fact. However from personal experience the right coach is what keeps the student engaged. You will have to look very hard to find a coach like Master Bert, period. There are not many Masters in S.A. it truly is a privilege to train with someone of that caliber and experience."

Tenike de Klerk

"After my very first class, I decided this was the martial art for me. Training in Taekwon-Do has had a big impact on my life. Physically, I’m much fitter and healthier, and I’ve learned perseverance in everything I do. The teaching approach at Impact TKD focuses on what we need to work on most at the time, which helps us improve steadily and with purpose. Since starting Taekwon-Do, my self-esteem has skyrocketed, and I feel more confident in myself and my abilities."

Belladene Pillay

"I joined Impact Taekwon-Do with the goal of learning self-defence, and the experience has exceeded my expectations. Training in Taekwon-Do has had a positive impact on my confidence, mentally and emotionally. The teaching style at Impact TKD is precise, informative, and easy to understand. Through martial arts, I’ve become more patient and accurate, and I’ve noticed improvements in my flexibility and strength. These benefits have carried over into my everyday life and contributed to my overall well-being."

Dina Grobler

"The hard work and dedication Master Bert puts in when training with his students, helped my daughter physically improved her strength, mentally it gave her confidence, emotionally she started believing more in herself. Master Bert is the kind of instructor that greets you when you come in and asks how you are doing, he always makes a joke or two but he knows when it time to be serious, he truly is one of the best instructors I've seen."
